During our time working and studying overseas, we gained a far greater understanding of how children learn and what it takes to ensure they have the best education. One of the greatest lessons we learned was how to create a unique and authentic curriculum designed to cater for your children’s needs, by taking the best and most positive aspects of many different and varying international curricula.

Tate International School is unique in its approach as it utilises the best global concepts to provide an authentic learning experience you will not find anywhere else. This authenticity instil confidence, respect and acceptance of themselves, and those around them. At Tate International School we believe that none of the above-mentioned skills can be successfully achieved if Mindfulness is not a fundamental part of our daily practice. Mindfulness involves paying attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging the outcome. Our children learn that acceptance and awareness are the basic building blocks of conscious living which in return, have immense beneficial effects on their ability to learn and apply new information

As a 21st century school we are acutely aware of the role that technology plays in the way our students learn and interact with the world. With this in mind Tate International School has gone far and beyond the normal chalk and talk approach to teaching. Our curriculum has been fully incorporated on our customised and authentically designed online learning platform. This means that every lesson in a 190 day annual school cycle has different interactive components and aspects of the five E’s:

• Engage: Interest is piqued, questions are encouraged and unlocking of prior knowledge happens.

• Explore: Hands on investigation, the exploration and scaffolding of resources and teacher facilitation.

• Explain: A demonstration of understanding of what has been explored, justifying thinking and explaining key concepts.

• Elaborate: Students apply understanding to different contexts and examine the implications of their own learning.

​

• Evaluate: The students demonstrate learning, discuss potential questions and teacher assesses progress and learning
